UPDATE: (August 24, 2011)Many are
still asking me about this site despite it has been removed from the internet for many weeks now. The site is gone. It is most likely not going to come back. It has been on our scam list since March and people are still asking about this site despite the warning. Once again, the site is a scam and it will not come back!
Full Review/ Site HistoryWe are moving OnBux from the Watch List to the Scam List. Before we go into the full detail as to why we are moving them to the scam list, I would like to first give a little history about the site...
Site fully launched in June 2010. We tested the site and was paid at every request. We never bought or purchased any upgrade from the site. We used the site as a standard member just like we do for any "bux" site.
In August of 2010 we started a banner rotator for this site and let 20 others earn referrals from the banner rotators in the reviews. Site was doing great for about 6 months and was moved to the Legit List on December 8, 2010.
You couldn't find hardly any complaints, and everyone was very happy with the results they were getting from this site. Then all of this suddenly all that changed when the site started to suspend and ban people from the site for cheating. Started around January 2011. At first we didn't think nothing of it, since many sites will have a problem with cheaters.
The complaints were growing more and more and the site started to pay members manually on January 26, 2011. Some members were also being blocked from posting in the forum due to this new security measure they had in place. Shortly after we moved the site from the Legit List to the Ongoing Investigations List on January 29, 2011 due to the controversy and non-payments.
About a month later, complaints continued to grow in large numbers. Not on our site but others as well. Non-payments, accounts being banned, blocked from posting in the forum and several other problems. We officially stopped using the site, removed all banner rotators, and moved the site to the Watch List on February 27, 2011.
A month later the site still pays manually and still picks whom is to cashout instantly. The rest are forced to wait for their payment without any support or questions as to why they must wait. Most of them are investors. Those who have paid a lot of money to the site.
We have waited 60 + days for this site to get its act together and from their last update they are asking everyone for another month to audit and get everyone paid. Yet they couldn't do it in 60 days? In February they stated that 74% of members have been reviewed. In March they say they have now a total of 77% members who are now paid instantly. That is if you are to believe that number is correct. For arguments sake, lets say the number is correct...so for a whole month of March they only cleared 3%!!? Now they say they will have 23% done by then end of April? Seems to be a delay tactic used by many "bux" sites. Sites like bux.to and gagabux.com come to mind.
So the time has come, and now the site will be moved to the Scam List for selective payments, blocking people from receiving support, and complaints about non-payments. See "cons" section for full details.
Here are the pros and cons of OnBux:
PROS:
1. Forum - This site does have a forum. Forums are great for communication between members and staff. Members can post payment proofs, get support, and stay up to date on changes made to the site. You can find their forum here: http://www.onbux.com/forum/
2. Direct Referrals - Current limits for standard members is at 80. Great for promoters and those who can earn referrals.
It will cost standard members $0.10 to delete each inactive referral. Also inactive and suspended members are never removed from your downline. Which is a downside for standard members who have to pay to remove referrals.
3. All Countries Accepted - So far there are no restrictions and all can join and earn from this site. Will update if this changes.
.
4. Upgrade from MAIN Balance - You can now use your main balance to upgrade or extend your current upgrade. Very few sites offer this. First one that we have reviewed that offered it was ClixSense. NeoBux recently added this option and now onbux is offering it.
5. DDoS Protection - Site is protected from DDoS attacks (more info).
Which is a big threat to PTC sites. Such protection can be very
expensive but these days it is needed to protect the site from possible
threats and downtime.

CONS:
1. Non-Payments and Selective Payments - We have received many complaints from a lot of members who are still waiting to be paid. Some have been waiting over 10 business days
(up to 2 months!). Note that for the most part standard members are being paid instantly without problems. However about 25% or more are still waiting for their payment. Most of the complaints come from investors.
2. Blocked From Posting In Forum - Some are claiming they can not post in the forum due to their account is under review. If they are not suspended then we feel the site shouldn't block these members from posting in the forum.
3. Punishment for asking about payment - If you are one of these unlucky members who is waiting for their payment for over 10 business days, and you open a support ticket or ask about your payment, in return you could be sent to the end of the payment queue for requesting support.
"...We will state again that all additional requests/posts/tickets on your
manual payments, will instantly put you to the back of the queue,
without exception....."
4. White Listed or Not?- Once you go through the manual review process for your payment, you are suppose to be "white listed" and all other payments are suppose to be instant. Which is not 100% true. Since several are reporting that they have to go through the process again when requesting their next payment.
From what we read on the forum if you violated any of their rules or show suspicion you could have to go through the review process again
Also despite the site claiming that ultimate members can now request their cashout instantly, some are reporting they are not white listed when they try to cashout again.
5. "Account Suspended" - Whether or not who is the one at fault, the members or the site that is suspending them... there are a large number of members getting suspended from the site. No matter how you look at it, it just doesn't look good for the site. Regardless if the members are actually cheating. The signal that this sends out is that onbux is not secure and a safe place to invest. Also, if the site is suspending a lot of cheaters, their will be a lot of backlash coming from those who claim they were wrongfully suspended.
Site says they violated the terms. Sure, some members have confessed and got their accounts back (w the lost of all earnings). Some have swore up and down that they did nothing wrong.
You can find these complaints in our comment section (at end of review), or at these other sources:

First 5 months the site had very little complaints. Now there seems to be a lot of complaints about this issue. So, be sure to read their terms and understand them.
Do not share a computer with another onbux user, or you will be banned. For instance do not go to your friend's house and ask if you can do your daily clicks on his computer. Also, do not share your paypal/alertpay account with someone, or your account will be suspended.
1.1. You can only have one account. Any attempt to create more than one
account will lead to the termination of all of them. This also applies
to your AlertPay / PayPal / NETELLER / Liberty Reserve account which has
to be unique and not shared with another user.
1.2. Only one account
per computer is allowed to view advertisements. If more than one
account in a single computer view advertisemets, all of those accounts
will be permanently suspended.
1.4. You can only view ads using one IP address within a 24 hours
period. On the other hand, you can use multiple IP addresses to login.
Any attempt to do otherwise may lead to the termination of your account.
Logging in from proxies or shared network environments (such as, but
not limited to schools, LAN houses, cybercafes, etc.) is not allowed.
6. Members Banned From the Forum - You would think that most people who have used neobux and other bux sites, would already know that there are some topics of discussions that are considered taboo on bux sites. For example, asking if a site uses bots. Even if they are selling them, it is pointless to ask. So do not bother asking a site whether or not they are using bots. If you do, you could earn yourself a forum suspension, or worse.
http://www.emoneyspace.com/forum/index.php/topic,110238.0.html
3.9. Any type of threat, intimidation or unfounded accusation against
onBux or our members / staff, here or elsewhere, will be considered
disrespectful and may lead to the removal of forum privileges. As well
as the permanent suspension of your account, temporary suspension of
membership and / or any other benefits.
7. PayPal & AlertPay Disputes - Several have filed a dispute against OnBux and have won the dispute due to paypal decision to refund them. In general you have 45 days from the purchase date to file a dispute with paypal and 30 days with alertpay. If you are waiting for your payment and you are within these parameters, we would advise investors to seriously think about filing a dispute.

8. Phishing Ads - Site has a problem with someone purchasing/placing ads for the sake of phishing people's passwords. On numerous occasions the site has displayed ads harmful to viewers. Asking for passwords and pin numbers from your alertpay account to steal money from your account.

9. PayPal Limited? - Down for months and from the looks of it, for good. They claimed paypal was down due to the API and security reasons, which was a lie.. Just a made up story as to why paypal is not available. Truth is that their account was limited.
10. A "Bux" Site - This type of ptc has a very high fail rate.
Most "bux" sites go scam under 6 months, if not within a year. Most rely
on upgrades and rental purchases rather than actual advertisers. A
typical "bux" site will show fixed/self-sponsored ads, sell rentals, and have a higher
rate per click. This type of business model is not very successful and
unsustainable, which is probably why most "bux" sites fail.
11. New Site - We do not recommend investing or buying upgrades on new sites.
For at least 6 months, if not a year. If you can't wait that long, at
least test and get paid first before you decide to invest.

Summary:
OnBux now has some very negative feedback, not only here but other places as well. We have decided to
move the site from the Watch List to the Scam List due to non-payments going over 60+ days. Some members still love it to death and will defend it till the very end. Some are just disgusted
by it.
Over the past months many investors are reporting they are not being paid and the
complaints have increased. We expected this would happen when it was
announced that payments would be manually done and accounts would be
checked. If the site has a HUGE cheating problem (as they are claiming to
have), then this can make the site unstable. Whether or not the people
the are being banned are actually cheating. Because in return they are going to
tell everyone that they have been banned without just cause. The site
has let this
go on for too long now, and now we have a lot of people reporting that they have been
banned or not paid.
We all know there is a huge number of cheaters in the PTC industry and there
are those who get greedy or try to beat the system. But we can not
ignore the large number of complaints about non payments. These
complaints have increased more and more over the past 2 months. For 6 months, the site barely had any complaints, and now this site receives more complaints than any other site we have listed here. Granted it is a big site, but the drastic change and increase in complaints can no longer be ignored.
We are full aware that some people are still being paid without delay. We also know that most of those who are a huge fan of this site feel that all those who are complaining must be cheaters. Which we strongly disagree with that statement.
We have watched the comments that have come through here for over 2 months and we seriously doubt that everyone is a cheater. Try to look beyond your experience. I know it can be hard especially if you are getting paid without problems, but if you look around a little, then you should be able see what is really going on. If you check around you will find the same complaints on many other blogs and forums. Which we can no longer ignore...so the site will be moved to the scam list for the reasons previously described.
We will continue to monitor this site. If anyone would like to share their experience that they had with this site, whether it is good or bad, feel free to do so in our comment section at the end of this review.
