The End is Near...No, it is not the end of
the world as we know it. However our transition is almost complete and
we are currently working on finalizing the move.
You may be
wondering what is taking so long. Well for starters we are adding a
forum which is taking much more time for us to complete the transition.
After
the move is complete you will notice a "forum" link at the top of every
page, and every review will have a "comment" button to where the site
is being discussed on the new forum. The forum will replace
intensedebate and all comments from intensedebate will be archived and
in view only mode. New replies will have to be done through the new
forum by using the comment button.
Guests will still be allowed
to post without registering but their comments will be moderated before
they are shown. Just like we have always done in the past with blogger
and intensedebate. Basically it will be the same but it should be easier
for everyone and at the same time it should cut down on page load time
on our reviews. Hopefully everyone will find this to be a better option.
Everyone will be able to have signatures and have more tools when
making new comments versus what intensedebate had.
I am hoping
by the start of next week Microsoft will start moving our domain to the
new host. I will make another update and let everyone know, so you can
expect down time during the move.
Also I will start reviewing new sites here soon. Maybe this weekend I will be able to do a couple reviews if time permits.

Status and Update about our site transition. I hope everyone is having a great new year start...
First
and foremost I would like to thank everyone for their patience during
this transition phase. We are still working on moving all files and
reviews to the new Microsoft site. Since we are busy with such a task,
we are putting off roll call for another 2 months. So those who are
currently on banner rotators, don't have to report till March 1st.
Currently
we still have a lot of reviews that need to be moved. If you look at
our scam list you will notice over one thousand reviews listed. The Scam
List is the biggest list we have on our site and it will take some time
to move all of them. If some of you may recall we faced the same issue
when we moved from blogger over a year ago. A lot of reviews were never
moved but kept on file. I don't know about everyone else, but I do not
like to leave something unfinished.
So here is the plan, the old
site is running as normal. So we are going to stick to the original
deadline. Which was to have the entire site moved by February 1st.
We
will start updating reviews again however we will not be making any new
reviews of new sites till we have finished moving the entire site.
Since we are spending most of our time working on the new site and have
little time to spare to review new sites. We are hoping to have
everything moved by January 20th, if not sooner.
Overall there
will not be any drastic changes to the layout or look of our site. Like
always we like to keep it simple. However do expect these changes to
take place once the transition is complete...
Badges will be
added to reviews. Some of you have requested this feature despite my
doubts. Will try it and see how it goes. How it will work is status of
sites will now be updated through feeds on these badges/banners. These
badges can be added to sites and blogs. Visitors to these sites can
simply click on the badge to be taken to the review on our site. When a
site status changes, the banner will change within these badges
displayed on these sites.
Polls will be removed from end of
reviews. We tested polls however we feel it is not necessary to have
them on the review pages. About the only good that came from polls was
how it showed which owners like to vote repeatedly for their own site.
So adding poll on reviews were redundant.
A stats page will be
added. All sites from the Elite, Legit, and Ongoing List will have all
their stats all on one page. Their rate per click, minimum cashout,
daily average, and so forth. I have made a spread sheet that will be
embedded on a page so those who are interested can view these stats.
"Right click disabled". Will be removed. Instead we will just deal with these copy-cats in our own way.
After the site is moved the comment sections at the end of each page will be removed. Instead
there will be a comment section button at the top and bottom of reviews.
All you have to do is click on it and the comment section will open in a
new tab. There are two reasons for doing this. One, it will help
increase page load time for those with low internet connection. Two, we
will not have to worry about losing any comments after we have moved to
the new site. You will notice that our reviews and pages link will
change. Instead of it showing http://ptc-investigation.com/default.aspx
it will show http://ptc-investigation.com/
pages/default.aspx
which in return will create a new comment section for each page if we
were to embed the comment sections at the end of the pages. Which is not
what we want. If we need to, we can always go back and embed the
comment section on these pages.
Elite List will have more restrictions and prohibit certain sites from
ever making it on the Elite List. Details will be given on the new site.
Scam List will have some changes made to it as well. Which will be explained after the site is fully transferred.
Well that is all I have for now. Sorry for the long update, but I wanted
to give everyone an idea where I am at, and what I am working on. Will
give another update when the domain is to be moved.
